OASIS SCHOTSCHE-KLOOF WALMERS RUGBY ACADEMY
Oasis SK Walmers embarked on a new challenge, establishing a Rugby Academy in aid of uplifting our eager youngsters within the community as well as neighbouring schools. Twice in a month the youngsters are invited to participate in a morning of fun, rugby and education. The knowledge they receive are from volunteer coaches and members who are willing to assist these youngsters in improving themselves for the future.
Included in this new founded Academy is a Social development program. The aim is to develop the individual holistically. Thus, the intentions of the Rugby Academy shall not only be to develop the rugby skills of the individual, but nurture a sense of community responsibility, helping with their educational needs and alerting them to the dangers of peer pressure
The Academy also included a social development drive whereby the community is directly involved e.g. collection of unwanted clothes, bedding, etc. to be distributed to those less fortunate families in the community.
The Academy will concentrate on establishing itself in the first year between 40- 45 youth rugby players within the community and schools will be invited to partake in the Academy sessions. Players will receive specialized training programs and will be monitored as they progress. Our aim is to develop healthy, fit and confident rugby players and develop pathways through sport programmes for youth.

Well done to the the A -cademy TEAM. Seems like everything is coming together for you guys. Keep up the great work and may you go from strength to strength with all your future endevours. Your efforts may seem fruitless at times but hang in there! The seed has been planted and all we need to do is nuture the seedling into a steadfast tree with strong roots and various outstretched branches. In years to come our children will be able to reap and benefit from the fruit produced by this well nurtured tree.
